Young Stars Ball Hockey

Our Under 13 program is geared towards our oldest players. We’ve developed exercises and drills to continue challenging our players while keeping it fun and exciting.

Throughout the 8 week program our players will learn more advanced stick handling, passing, shooting and one-timers. This session will consist of various drills including: 1 on 1, 2 on 1, and 2 on 2 circuits, team relay races, advanced obstacle courses, and battle drills.

Players will complete a series of advanced endurance and conditioning training each week. In addition, players will complete an exhibition game towards the end of each session. Each session will focus on teamwork, having fun, building friendships, and gaining an understanding of advanced ball hockey rules.

All sessions will consist of warm-up and stretches, important safety rules, advanced hockey exercises and drills, fun games, exhibitions game, and a team cheer.

Equipment requirements:
All participants are required to have the following equipment prior to entering the playing floor:

• • Appropriately sized hockey stick
  • Indoor sneakers
  • CSA approved helmet with a cage or full face shield
  • CSA approved gloves
  • Shin pads
  • Knee pads
  • Elbow pads (optional but highly recommended)
  • Water bottle (long nozzle bottles are recommended)
  • Labels – all your child’s equipment should be label with your their name. We will provide a name label for your child’s helmet.
